Gem Lake is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 393 at the 2010 census.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.14 square miles (2.95 km2), of which 1.08 square miles (2.80 km2) is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 km2) is water. Highway 61 serves as a main route. Nearby places include White Bear Lake, Maplewood, Little Canada, and Vadnais Heights.
As of the census of 2010, there were 393 people, 155 households, and 115 families residing in the city. The population density was 363.9 inhabitants per square mile (140.5/km2). There were 161 housing units at an average density of 149.1 per square mile (57.6/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 93.1% White, 5.1% Asian, 1.0% from other races, and 0.8% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.5% of the population.
There were 155 households of which 27.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.5% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 25.8% were non-families. 20.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
