Geeta Bharat Jain is the mayor of the city of Mira Bhayander.

She is married to Mr. Bharat Jain. The couple has two daughters.

She completed her 12th from Bhavan’s College and further decided to pursue her career from PVT Polytechnic College Santa Cruz and successfully completed her degree in bachelors in Science (BSC) along with the degree of D.M.T. in 1982.

“A life not lived for others is not a life” - A simple thought moved her heart and her interest towards social work began.

Organized Blood camps as a teenager during her college and then moved on to a bigger milestones spreading awareness in the slum zones of Dharavi for Tuberculosis and family planning. She also undertook imparting education to the underprivileged of the slum areas.

She strongly believes that every Individual has a social responsibility, a constitutional opportunity and a moral obligation to help others.

Moving along in her father-in-law's footprints, Shri Mithalal R. Jain, India’s 1st MP from the Jain community. His work and his dedication imbued her to join politics.

In 2002 contested Elections in the Mira Bhayander Constituency on an independent seat and won with good margins of votes.

She was nominated as a Mayoral candidate and was elected to become the Mayor of Mira Bhayander in February 2015.
