Gausganj is a census town in the southeast of the Hardoi district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. Situated south of Kachhauna, it is located midway between Mallawan and Sandila on the state highway that links them.It is 5 km from Hasanapur village, which is one of the cleanest and well planned village of uttar Pradesh. Mostly people are engaged in primary and secondary sectors. This town provide basic needs for the near by villages like Terwa, Hasanapur, Kahli, Dhatigara. Hasanapur, Terwa, Gausganj make economic Street for this area. Most people of this village are educated and have also migrated to various parts of country and the world. It is also the education hub for the surrounding villages. P.B.R. Inter College is the oldest school in this area and was founded around the 1954. Since its formation it is responsible for the qualitative education of people of village and the surrounding ones. The farmers of this area used advanced technology for agriculture.
Although it is a small town, it has a colourful ethnic composition. Both Hindu and Muslim communities live together with harmony and celebrate their festivals with joy. Hindi and Urdu are the part of the regional dialect which by the way has no name.
Shri Ram Singh Premi is one of the popular poets from the region. A retired teacher from P.B.R. Inter College, he writes poems in the regional dialect that can be sung and read. He belongs to the group of writers interactive writers who read, share and comment on the works of each other. Also, these writers are in close contact with their readers which provides them with constructive criticism.
