Garden City, sometimes known as Garden City Beach, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. While Garden City is sometimes considered to be a city it is not incorporated and does not yet have a city council or mayor. The population was 9,357 at the 2000 census and the 2010 population estimate is around 11,014. Garden City Beach is located directly south of Surfside Beach and ends on a peninsula at the mouth of Murrells Inlet.

Garden City is located at 33°35′16″N 79°0′19″W / 33.58778°N 79.00528°W / 33.58778; -79.00528 (33.587760, -79.005221).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.5 square miles (14 km2), of which, 5.4 square miles (14 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (1.83%) is water.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9,357 people, 4,703 households, and 2,873 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,745.1 people per square mile (674.0/km²). There were 7,995 housing units at an average density of 1,491.1/sq mi (575.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.02% White, 1.00% African American, 0.28% Native American, 0.42% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.30% from other races, and 0.89% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.12% of the population.
