Gail Brown (née Ziegler; October 11, 1937) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Clarice Hobson on the NBC daytime soap opera Another World (1975–1986). She is the older sister of actress Karen Black.

Born Gail Ziegler on October 11, 1937 to Jewish parents in Park Ridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The daughter of Elsie Mary (née Reif), a writer of several prize-winning children's novels, and Norman Arthur Ziegler, an engineer and businessman. Brown graduated from Maine Township High School East in 1955.

She played the role of Clarice Hobson on the soap opera Another World from 1975 to 1986 with sporadic on-off appearances following her departure. In his book Eight Years in Another World, head writer Harding Lemay stated that he intended the character of Clarice to last only two days, but he was so taken by Brown's performance that he decided to add the character to the storyline.

Brown took her professional name from her first husband, Michael Quinlan Brown. She was married to Brown from 1970 until 1977. In 1981 Brown married Gordon Duggan (m. 1981-present) with whom she has two children with; a son and daughter. Brown has never lost her passion for expression through any artistic median, having taught dance, acting, and worked behind the scenes of various youth musicals in the village she resides in, and continues to sing in a local non traditional choir. Although she has not set out to have any works published, she has written and illustrated short children stories, other short stories, and has been writing throughout her whole life. She plays piano and a little guitar as well. Interestingly, Brown did not originally set out to be an actress. Her true passion was ballet and Broadway, but was wise enough to accept a wonderful opportunity to be on Another World for eleven years, which to this day she feels immensely grateful for and looks back on with fondness and love.
