The single, released by Oasis Records, was promoting an album of the same name.
"From Here to Eternity", along with some other tracks from the same album, were featured in the popular video game Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (2005) on fictional radio station Flashback FM.
In 2000 "From Here to Eternity" was re-recorded with American musician Eric D. Clark and French singer Amanda Lear, credited to Giorgio Moroder vs. Eric D. Clark feat. The song was included on Giorgio Moroder tribute album DJ Empire Presents: A Tribute to Giorgio Moroder. It was also released on a 12" single with three remix versions and became a club hit in the USA.
