The French Women's Handball Championship (Championnat de France de handball féminin) is the premier women's handball league in France. Founded in 1952, it is currently contested by ten teams.
Metz Handball has dominated the championship in recent times with 17 titles between 1989 and 2011 including two 5-years winning streaks, while US Ivry and Paris UC were the most successful teams in past decades with nine and five titles respectively. Most recently HBF Arvor 29 won its first championship in 2012.
Currently the champion is granted a spot in the EHF Champions League's group stage.
