Fincastle is a home rule-class city in eastern Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 825 at the 2000 census.

Fincastle was incorporated on January 25, 1974. The name probably refers to the Virginia county that eventually became the modern state of Kentucky. That county was named for the city of Fincastle, itself named for Lord Fincastle.

Fincastle is located at 38°18′23″N 85°32′22″W / 38.30639°N 85.53944°W / 38.30639; -85.53944 (38.306419, -85.539446).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2000, there were 825 people, 295 households, and 243 families residing in the city. The population density was 3,890.9 people per square mile (1,516.8/km²). There were 301 housing units at an average density of 1,419.6 per square mile (553.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 62.18% White, 30.42% Black or African American, 0.61% Native American, 2.18% Asian, 0.73% from other races, and 3.88% from two or more races.
