Fanny Mui-ching Cheung (born October 3, 1950) is Professor of Psychology and Co-Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Cheung supervises the governance of interdisciplinary research institutes as well as knowledge transfer at CUHK. She is the recipient of the APA Award for Distinguished Contributions to the International Advancement of Psychology.

Cheung was born on October 3, 1950 to parents Yuk-kae Cheung and You-fong Chan in Hong Kong. She received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and PhD in Psychology from the University of Minnesota.

Cheung conducts research in cross-cultural personality assessment, psychopathology, personality, vocational behavior, gender equality, and women leadership.

Cheung advocates for rights of women and people with disabilities in Hong Kong. She lectures throughout the world, and has contributed over 200 academic publications.
