Faculty of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (Faculdade de Ciências Sociais, Humanas e Artes) are one of five campuses of the University of Cape Verde. It acts as its main campus it is located on Avenida Santo Antão in the neighborhood of Palmarejo in southwest Praia.

It was founded as the Escola de Formação de Professores (EFPES) on June 28, 1979 and was Cape Verde's first college. It was formed by teaches who lectured in a secondary school, in 1982, it had teachers in a basic portion. On October 2, 1995, EFPAS was replaced with the High Education Institute (ISE) under a decree no. 54/95.

It became part of the newly formed University of Cape Verde, the country's first public university on November 20, 2006. It was no longer known as the Instituto Superior de Educação on October 9, 2008 under a decree and fully integrated into the University of Cape Verde.

Its last rector was António Leão de Aguiar Correia e Silva, he later became rector of the country's first university
