Evansville is a city in Douglas County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 612 at the 2010 census.
Evansville was platted in 1879 when the railroad was extended to that point.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.78 square miles (2.02 km2), all of it land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 612 people, 272 households, and 154 families residing in the city. The population density was 784.6 inhabitants per square mile (302.9/km2). There were 292 housing units at an average density of 374.4 per square mile (144.6/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.9% White, 0.2% African American, 0.8% Native American, 0.5% Asian, and 0.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.8% of the population.
There were 272 households of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.1% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 43.4% were non-families. 39.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 22.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.15 and the average family size was 2.88.
The median age in the city was 41.7 years. 23.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 4.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 26.6% were from 25 to 44; 20.6% were from 45 to 64; and 25.2% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 46.1% male and 53.9% female.
