Evanston is a neighborhood in the city of Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio, United States.

A mostly African American neighborhood since the 1960s, it's known as the birthplace of actress Doris Day, and is bordered by the neighborhoods of East Walnut Hills, Hyde Park, North Avondale, and Walnut Hills, as well as the City of Norwood.

The community was originally known as the village of Idlewood. It was renamed in 1893 after the city of Evanston, Illinois. Evanston was annexed to the City of Cincinnati on November 19, 1903.

Evanston's most successful business district is the O'Bryonville business district, located along Madison Road at Torrence Parkway between the affluent neighborhoods of Hyde Park and East Walnut Hills. The lively business district is home to many boutiques, restaurants, specialty stores, and galleries and is a popular Cincinnati destination. O'Bryonville contains Owl's Nest Park.

O'Bryonville was annexed to the City of Cincinnati in 1870.

Two Cincinnati Public School District (CPS) Elementary Schools are in the area: Academy of World Languages (AWL) a Foreign Language School teaching Chinese, Japanese, Russian, and Arabic- with English as a Second Language (ESL) and Hoffman-Parham Elementary School. Academy of World Languages is in a new school building, as well as Hoffman-Parham Elementary School, now called Evanston Academy. Despite its name, Walnut Hills High Schools is located within the Evanston neighborhood. Nearby High Schools are Withrow University High School and Clark Montessori High School.
