Endeavour Learning and Skills Centre is a centre operated by HCC Training offering adult education and further education.

The site of the centre has historically had many uses, including as a workhouse, hospital and school.

The Sculcoates Union Workhouse was built in 1844 for the Poor law union of Sculcoates. The building was mostly influenced by the Tudor architectural style in red brick with stone dressings, and had accommodation for 500 paupers. The cost of the building was £11,000. The architect was Henry Francis Lockwood.

The front of the building (facing Beverley) road was 220 feet (67 m) and was particularly ornamented. In the 1860s a fever ward (later an infirmary) was constructed at the rear of the building.

The work house was extended in 1889 making space for 800. The Sculcoates Union also built homes in Hessle in 1897 for children. In 1930 the building was taken over by Hull Corporation.

The work house became Kingston General Hospital in 1948. In 1948 the hospital had 310 beds. The number of beds was 464 in 1963 after extensive reconstruction.

In 2001 the building was demolished to allow the construction of a new school.

Endeavour High School was created in 2001 from a merger of two existing schools; in the same year the planning process began for a new school on the site of the former Kingston General Hospital, together with sports facilities on a former council depot site. It moved to a new £15 million site on Beverley Road in 2003, construction of the school was funded by cash raised by the sale of shares in Kingston Communications by the City Council. A sports facility north of the school in Temple Street, Stepney was also built.

In March 2004 Endeavour was placed in special measures, following an inspection by Ofsted. The school came out of special measures in December 2005. The school was placed in special measures again in 2009.
