Elk Township is a township in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 51 at the 2000 census, and 49 at the 2010 census. There were 5 children under the age of 19 years.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 74.0 square miles (192 km2), of which, 73.9 square miles (191 km2) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) of it (0.15%) is water.
Elk Township is bordered by Gaines and Shippen Townships to the north, Delmar and Morris Townships to the east, Lycoming County to the south and Potter County to the west.
As of the census of 2000, there were 51 people, 24 households, and 18 families residing in the township. The population density was 0.7 people per square mile (0.3/km²). There were 185 housing units at an average density of 2.5/sq mi (1.0/km²). The racial makeup of the township was 100.00% White.
There were 24 households out of which 12.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.7% were married couples living together, and 25.0% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.13 and the average family size was 2.44.
In the township the population was spread out with 7.8% under the age of 18, 3.9% from 18 to 24, 19.6% from 25 to 44, 41.2% from 45 to 64, and 27.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
