Elk Mountain is a town in Carbon County, Wyoming, United States. The population was 191 at the 2010 census. The town shares its name with a mountain 7 miles (11 km) southwest of town.

Elk Mountain is located at 41°41′11″N 106°24′52″W / 41.68639°N 106.41444°W / 41.68639; -106.41444 (41.686517, -106.414535).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.28 square miles (0.73 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 191 people, 76 households, and 58 families residing in the town. The population density was 682.1 inhabitants per square mile (263.4/km2). There were 109 housing units at an average density of 389.3 per square mile (150.3/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.4% White, 1.0% African American, and 0.5% Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.5% of the population.

There were 76 households of which 28.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 72.4% were married couples living together, 1.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 23.7% were non-families. 23.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
