Elgin Park Secondary is a public high school in School District 36 Surrey. It is referred to as the 'Home of the Orcas'. In the past and present Elgin is known to have a rivalry with Earl Marriott Secondary and Semiahmoo Secondary. They are known to have a strong volleyball team, as well as a strong rugby team.
Elgin Park Secondary offers the Integrated Program, as well as the Science Co-op and Humanities Co-op programs. For 2009/2010, Elgin Park Secondary was ranked 41/274 in the Province (38/256 in the past five years) by the Fraser Institute and has boasted an average of 97.26% of students graduating (2006-2010). Elgin Park Secondary offers Advanced Placement classes.
Both Elgin Park and Tamanawis Secondary schools (both located in School District 36 Surrey) have virtually the same architectural basis. Elgin Park is one of the newest high schools in the district having opened its doors in 1993.
During mid-2017, a craigslist user stated that the school was 'for sale' as a joke. [1]. The principle warned his staff to be on the lookout for pranks.
Violence is minimal, with no recorded cases of inquiry.
