"El Último Adiós" is a song written by the Peruvian singer Gian Marco and Emílio Estefan Jr. (the English "The Last Goodbye" written by Jodi Marr) in memory of the 9/11 attacks. Over 60 different artists joined to sing the lyrics to help raise money for charities and help the families of the victims. The song was released in a special CD and it was sold worldwide. In the four minutes of the song, a variety of musical genres can be heard. The international stars that collaborated with Gian Marco included Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Paulina Rubio, Thalía, Chayanne, Alejandro Sanz, Ivete Sangalo, Marc Anthony, Ana Bárbara, Juan Luis Guerra and Gloria Estefan.
The song failed to enter the charts, but EP peaked at 197 on Billboard.
To this day, the only time this song has been heard live was in a concert by Gian Marco, in which he plays an acoustic version of it. He presented it by saying:
This song...was born with a guitar. And with that guitar, I will play it to you.
