El Afweyn District (Somali: Degmada Ceel Afweyn), also known as El Afweyne District, is a district in the northern Sanaag region of Somalia. It is the second largest and most populous district in Sanaag after Erigavo District. Its capital lies at El Afweyn.

The total population of El Afweyn is 65,474. The district is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group, with the Habar Yoonis sub-clan of the Isaaq especially well represented.
