El Afweyn, also known as Ceel Afweyn meaning the large mouth well, is a town in the northern Sanaag region of Somaliland. It is the second largest city in Sanaag.

The city El Afweyn (Ceel Afweyne) has a population of 85,797 residents. The city is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group, with the Habar Jeclo (Biciide) sub -clan of Isaaq well-represented.
