The football Team's golden age was in the 1960s when the team could defeat Egypt's strongest teams at that time, winning the Egyptian Premier League in 1966. The team's level begun to drop due to financial problems. The team relegated in 2008–09 season and never show up in the Premier League again, the team was so near to show up again season 2013 /2014 and reports indicate that season 2014 /2015 has so big chance to show up again
