Edgar [Ed-grr]is a village in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,479 at the 2010 census. Edgar has maintained Tree City USA standing since 1995.
Edgar was platted in 1891 by the railroad. It was named for William Edgar, a local landowner and owner of a sawmill.
