Echizen (越前町 Echizen-chō?) is a town located in Nyū District, Fukui Prefecture, Japan.
On February 1, 2005 the towns of Asahi and Ota, and the village of Miyazaki, all from Nyū District, were merged into Echizen.
As of this merger (but with 2003 population data), the town has an estimated population of 24,495 and a density of 160 persons per km². The total area is 152.90 km².
