E:60 is an Emmy award-winning primetime newsmagazine show that presents a mix of hard-hitting investigations, revealing athlete profiles, inspirational human interest features, and tales from off the beaten path. The show premiered on ESPN on October 16, 2007.
Each story, prepared meticulously by the program’s experienced producers and reporters – including Jeremy Schaap, Lisa Salters, Bob Woodruff, Tom Rinaldi, and Chris Connelly – blends the very best in journalism and long-form storytelling.
Since its premiere in 2007, E:60 has traveled the globe in pursuit of the stories which address broader issues through the lens of sports. The show has reported from Kenya, Sudan, India, Dominican Republic, Morocco, Mexico, Senegal, Philippines, Netherlands, Haiti, Costa Rica, South Africa, Ukraine, Serbia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Panama, Liberia, and the Middle East.
In 2014, the show premiered an unprecedented investigation into the corruption and human rights abuses surrounding the World Cup bid of Qatar and took viewers inside the country's labor camps for the first time on television. In 2015, Jeremy Schaap continued his reporting on FIFA with an in-depth profile of former president Sepp Blatter and tales of corruption from deep inside the organization.
As issues surrounding race and policing gripped several communities in the U.S., E:60 presented an in-depth account from a high school football team in Ferguson, Missouri as well as the story of Jonathan Farrell, a young black college football player shot by a Charlotte officer after a car accident in an unfamiliar neighborhood.
In addition to its acclaimed investigations, E:60 produces inspirational features that resonate deeply with viewers. Perhaps none had more impact and response than the 2014 special produced for the one-year anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombing, “Dream On: Stories from Boston’s Strongest”. With contributions from President Barack Obama, Ben Affleck, Tom Brady, and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, the one-hour special remembered lives lost, and paid tribute to those who survived.
