Duchess is a village in southern Alberta, Canada, located north of Brooks, across from Trans-Canada Highway, in the County of Newell.
The village was named for Duchess Louise Marguerite. It is mainly a ranching community.
In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, the Village of Duchess recorded a population of 1,085 living in 371 of its 390 total private dwellings, a 9.4% change from its 2011 population of 992. With a land area of 1.96 km2 (0.76 sq mi), it had a population density of 553.6/km2 (1,433.7/sq mi) in 2016.
