Don Darling is a Canadian politician and the Mayor of Saint John, New Brunswick. He was elected on May 9, 2016. In the 2016 New Brunswick municipal elections, five candidates contested the Mayor's Office. He campaigned against the sitting deputy mayor Shelley Rinehart and member of Common Council Bill Farren. Darling received 8,139 votes and won 42.95% of total ballots cast. He was sworn in as the 67th Mayor of the City of Saint John on May 25, 2016. He succeeds Mel Norton. Darling is a former executive in the construction industry and a consultant.
