Dominic Ng (simplified Chinese: 吴建民; traditional Chinese: 吳建民; pinyin: Wú Jiànmín) is an American banker who is Chairman and CEO of East West Bank in California.
Dominic Ng transformed East West Bank from a small savings and loan association with $600 million in assets and a market capitalization of $40 million, in 1991, into the full-service commercial bank with total assets of $34.8 billion as of December 31, 2016.
In 1959, Ng was born in Hong Kong.
Ng holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston, an honorary doctor of law degree from Occidental College and an honorary fellowship from Lingnan University in Hong Kong.
Ng spent ten years as a Certified Public Accountant with Deloitte & Touche in Houston and Los Angeles. Ng was president of Seyen Investment.
In 1991, Ng joined East West Bank. Ng is the Chairman and CEO of East West Bancorp, Inc. and East West Bank, where its headquarter is in Pasadena, California.
Ng currently serves on the board of Mattel, Inc. (NYSE: MAT) and STX Entertainment. He is a member of the University of Southern California Board of Trustees, and a member of the Board of Overseers of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. Dominic Ng is also a member of the Los Angeles Committee, a newly appointed committee established by the Berggruen Institute.
