Diagonal is a city in Ringgold County, Iowa, United States. The population was 330 at the 2010 census.
The community was named for the fact two railroads intersected diagonally near the town site.
Diagonal is located at 40°48′32″N 94°20′29″W / 40.80889°N 94.34139°W (40.808819, -94.341510) along the Grand River.
