Deerfield is a village in Lenawee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 898 at the 2010 census. The village is located within Deerfield Township.
Deerfield was the birthplace of actor and philanthropist Danny Thomas.
Deerfield was first settled in 1826. It was incorporated as a village in 1873.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.96 square miles (2.49 km2), all land. Deerfield is also 33.1 miles (53.3 km) southeast of Ann Arbor and 26.5 miles (42.6 km) northwest of Toledo.
As of the census of 2010, there were 898 people, 343 households, and 258 families residing in the village. The population density was 935.4 inhabitants per square mile (361.2/km2). There were 372 housing units at an average density of 387.5 per square mile (149.6/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 95.0% White, 0.4% African American, 0.9% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 3.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.1% of the population.
There were 343 households of which 38.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.4% were married couples living together, 14.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 24.8% were non-families. 21.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.00.
