Dame Marguerite Matilda Pindling, GCMG (née McKenzie; born 26 June 1932), has been the Governor-General of the Bahamas since 8 July 2014. She is the third female Governor-General after Dame Doris Sands Johnson and Dame Ivy Dumont.
She was born to Reuben and Viola McKenzie in South Andros on 26 June 1932. She moved to Nassau in 1946 to live with her sister and attended the Western Senior School. She later became an assistant to photographer Stanley Toogood. Soon after she and Lynden Pindling met; the couple married on 5 May 1956 and remained married until his death on 26 August 2000.
Dame Marguerite is the widow of Sir Lynden Pindling, Prime Minister of the Bahamas from 1969-1992. The couple had four children.
