Thennangur, is a village, town panchayat located in Tiruvannamalai district of Tamil Nadu, India. The village is the site of a uniquely designed Sri Panduranga Hindu temple.
Thennangur is located on State Highway 116, between Kanchipuram and Vandavasi, and is served by buses from both cities. It is 110 kilometres (68 mi) from Tamil Nadu's state capital, Chennai.
According to Hindu mythology, the Hindu goddess Meenakshi was found as a three-year-old child by the Pandya king here.
Thennangur was given a rebirth when Sri Haridoss Giri Swamigal, the chief disciple of Sri Gnananandha Giri Swamigal chose the village for the location of a new centre to study Kirtan and Nama sankeerthanam.
