The casino is attached to the Dakota Dunes Golf Links 18 hole Golf Course.

In 2010, the casino released plans for a $25 Million Canadian expansion to add a spa, expanded convention facilities and a 161-room hotel. It was announced that construction was expected to start in the spring of 2011.

The Teepee of Light consists of seven 4000-watt spot lights that at night project into the night sky to form a light effect in the shape of a teepee.

The 18 hole golf course opened to the public on April 30, 2004. The golf course was designed by Graham Cooke. The golf course hosts the SIGA Dakota Dunes Open on PGA Tour Canada.

On April 2, 2008, StarPhoenix was threatened with a ban from covering press conferences at the Casino over reporter Betty Ann Adam investigating a story about the re-instatement of previously dismissed staff member at the casino.
