Daishōji Domain

Daishōji Domain (大聖寺藩?, Daishōji-han) was a Japanese domain of the Edo period. It was associated with Kaga Province in modern-day Ishikawa Prefecture.

In the han system, Daishōji was a political and economic abstraction based on periodic cadastral surveys and projected agricultural yields. In other words, the domain was defined in terms of kokudaka, not land area. This was different from the feudalism of the West.

The center of the domain was at Daishōji jin'ya in what is today the city of Kaga in Ishikawa Prefecture.

The hereditary daimyo were head of the clan and head of the domain. Daishōji was ruled by a cadet branch of the Maeda clan.
