Cryptoses rufipictus is a species of snout moth in the genus Cryptoses. It was described by Bradley in 1982, and is known from French Guiana and Brazil.

The wingspan is 11–12 mm for males and 15–18 mm for females. Females are larger and have darker forewings. The forewings in both sexes are moderately broad. The ground colour is cream, overlaid with greyish ochreous and weakly tinged with olive in males. In females, it is overlaid with brownish ochreous or reddish ochreous, often with scattered blackish tipped scales. The hindwings are uniformly dark grey.

Adults live in the fur of tree sloths. The larvae feed on the dung of the host.
