Críona Ní Dhálaigh is a Sinn Féin Dublin City Councillor and a former Lord Mayor of Dublin.
She was co-opted onto Dublin City Council in 2006, to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of Andrew O'Connell. She was elected in 2009 for the South West Inner City area and in 2014 for the Crumlin-Kimmage area. She is the first Sinn Féin councillor to take her seat as Lord Mayor of Dublin. Thomas Kelly, a member of the original Sinn Féin which split into Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil was unanimously elected to the position in 1920 but could not fulfil his role as he was a political prisoner being held in Wormwood Scrubs prison in England at the time.
