The Cochrane station is a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) underground station under construction in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, scheduled to open on 17 July 2017. It will serve as one of the stations on Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line.
Cochrane MRT station is located along and lends its name from Cochrane Road, which in turn is named after C.W.H. Cochrane (1876 - 1932), the 17th British Resident of Perak and the Chief Secretary to the Government of the Federated Malay States from 1929 to 1930.
The station is partly located on the site of the former Jalan Cochrane government quarters. Across Jalan Cochrane is the MyTOWN Shopping Centre, opened in March 2017, and IKEA Cheras, which is IKEA's second store in the country. An underpass is currently being built from the MRT station to the lower ground floor of MyTOWN mall.
Possibly as a nod to IKEA's location across the road from the station, the interior theme for Cochrane station is chosen as Urban Living.
MyTOWN mall meanwhile offers shuttle bus routes to AG1 SP11 Chan Sow Lin LRT station. RapidKL bus T352 connects this area to AG3 Maluri LRT station.
