Coalton is a village in Jackson County, Ohio, United States. The population was 479 at the 2010 census.

The village derives its name from Coal Township.

Coalton is located at 39°6′40″N 82°36′40″W / 39.11111°N 82.61111°W / 39.11111; -82.61111 (39.111094, -82.611055).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.55 square miles (1.42 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 479 people, 205 households, and 128 families residing in the village. The population density was 870.9 inhabitants per square mile (336.3/km2). There were 241 housing units at an average density of 438.2 per square mile (169.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.5% White, 0.2% African American, 0.4% Native American, and 1.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.8% of the population.

There were 205 households of which 30.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 38.0% were married couples living together, 16.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 7.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 37.6% were non-families. 33.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
