College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) is the organization that has since 1952 bestowed Academic All-American recognition on male and female athletes in Divisions I, II, and III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)—covering all NCAA championship sports—and NAIA athletes.
CoSIDA began as a part of the American College Public Relations Association (ACPRA). It split and was established as a separate organization in 1957 for sports information directors at all levels. At the original 1957 meeting there were 102 attendees as of 2010 there are over 2,400 members in the United States and Canada.
CoSIDA has selected the Academic All-Americans, which have been presented by ESPN The Magazine. On January 31, 2011, Capital One Financial Corporation announced a partnership with CoSIDA to become the title sponsor of the Academic All-America Program.
