He is also a DJ, calling himself DJ Church, performing at both Oxegen 2010 and Oxegen 2011 in the Electric Ballroom with his band partner DJ Gordo.

He was named as part of the Lions squad for the 2013 British and Irish Lions tour to Australia, but withdrew due to injury playing only twice.

He is known for his physical strength, and according to Leinster Rugby, Ireland and British and Irish Lions teammates Jamie Heaslip and Mike Ross, he is the strongest player they have seen in the gym in any of those squads, being able to bench press over 200 kg (440 lb) and squat over 300 kg (661 lb).

Healy was called into the Ireland A side that was defeated by England Saxons on 1 February 2008. On 21 June 2009, he was part of the Ireland 'A' team that won the 2009 Churchill Cup against England Saxons by 49–22 in the final in Colorado.
