Christine Edzard


Christine Edzard (born 15 February 1945) is a French film director, writer, and costume designer who has been based in London for most of her career. She is best known for her film adaptation of Charles Dickens's novel, Little Dorrit (1988), for which she was nominated for an Oscar for best adapted screenplay.

Edzard was born in Paris. She also co-wrote and designed the film Tales of Beatrix Potter (1971), for which she was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Costume Design and Best Art Direction. She trained with Lila De Nobili in Paris.

With her husband Richard B. Goodwin, she runs the Sands Films studio and production company in London]].
