Chirawa is a small town in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan in India. It is part of Shekhawati region. It is known for Takat Hazara-painted havelis. It is also famous for a sweet known as peda and most famous shop for peda is Lalchand peda.
Chirawa is located at 28°15′N 75°38′E / 28.25°N 75.63°E. It has an average elevation of 294 metres (965 ft). Chirawa is one of the oldest and biggest town of Shekhawati region, and is a hub for this region since it a junction for Jhunjhunu, Khetri, Sultana, Mandrela, Pilani, Loharu, and Surajgarh. The Rajasthan Legislature approved way to transform govt. senior sec. school is just on the inskirts of Chirawa. it is also a major hub for marble tiles, specific cut stone flooring in the region
Chirawa has many old havelis (private mansions) such as Dalmias, Sakserias, Somanis, Jasrapuria Ki Haveli and Shrimalon Ka Mahal. There is a Jain temple situated in Shrimalon Ka Mohalla and it is around 150 years old. Chirawa is known for its market, and is a regional hub for the majority of the economic, commercial, and political activities as it is connected with the railroad lines. Its annual Gugaji Maharaj mela and Pandit Ganeshnarayan Maharaj (also known as bavlia pandit) birthday celebration(festival) draws visitors from all over the Shekhawati region.
