Chinsurah subdivision is a subdivision of the Hooghly district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of two municipalities (Hugli-Chuchura and Bansberia) and five community development blocs: Balagarh, Chinsurah–Mogra, Dhaniakhali, Pandua and Polba–Dadpur. The five blocks contain 68 gram panchayats and 11 census towns. The subdivision has its headquarters at Hugli-Chuchura.
Apart from the Hugli-Chuchura municipality and Bansberia municipality, the subdivision contains 11 census towns and rural areas of 68 gram panchayats under five community development blocs: Balagarh, Chinsurah–Mogra, Dhaniakhali, Pandua and Polba–Dadpur. The 11 census towns are: Badhagachhi, Kodalia, Raghunathpur, Madhusudanpur, Amodghata, Shankhanagar, Chak Bansberia, Kulihanda, Simla, Boinchi, Pandua.
Rural area under Balagarh block consists of 13 gram panchayats, viz. Baklia Dhobapara, Ektarpur, Somra–I, Charkrishnabati, Guptipara–I, Somra–II, Dumurdaha Nityanandapur–I, Guptipara–II, Sripur–Balagarh, Jirat, Dumurdaha Nityanandapur–II, Mohipalpur and Sija Kamalpur. Urban area under this block consists of one census town: Badhagachhi. Balagarh police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Patuligram.
