Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT, Chinese: 成都理工大学) is a Chinese state university co-constructed by the Ministry of Land and Resources of P.R.C. and Sichuan Province, China. The university is located in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. CDUT was established in 1956 on the basis of geo-related faculties from Chongqing University, Nanjing University, Northwest University, Beijing Institute of Geology (China University of Geosciences, Beijing) and Changchun College of Geology (Jilin University).
Chengdu Institute of Geology, the predecessor of Chengdu University of Technology, was founded in 1956, based on the combination of related faculties of Nanjing University, Chongqing University, Northwest University, China University of Geosciences, Jilin University, etc. In 1993, Chengdu Institute of Geology was renamed as Chengdu Institute of Technology. Chengdu Institute of Geology (Technology) was a ministerial key university(affiliated to the Ministry of Land and Resources of China) before 2000. In 2001, Chengdu Institute of Technology amalgamated with two provincial colleges and formed Chengdu University of Technology (CDUT). It is now a key university co-constructed by the Ministry of Land and Resources of China and Sichuan Province of China.
CDUT is located in Chenghua District of Chengdu City, near the Shanghai-Chengdu National Highway. Presently, with a major campus expansion project in progress, the main campus occupies an area of 1.9 km² next to Chenghua Avenue. The campus expansion will add a number of residence, teaching and research facilities.
Chengdu University of Technology presently comprises 16 colleges, 82 majors, 42 research institutes (centers) as well as other academic units, including the Graduate School, the Institute of Sedimentary Geology, the Institute of Geological Survey & Research and the College of Continuing Education.These are the colleges below:
