Charles B. Anderson Jr. (born May 19, 1931) is a former Democratic politician from the State of Maryland, having served as the first County Executive of Harford County, Maryland.

Anderson first served as a member of the Board of County Commissioners in Harford County from 1970 until 1974. Harford County Maryland was granted home rule government in 1972. Anderson defeated Republican challenger John H. O’Neill to become the first Harford County Executive. As a county executive, Anderson served on the Regional Planning Council and the Personnel Advisory Board, Harford County from 1974 until 1978.

In the 1978 Democratic Primary, Anderson was defeated by 31-year-old challenger J. Thomas Barranger, who went on to serve as County Executive for one term, before he also was defeated in the next Democratic primary.

In 1981, after serving as County Executive, Charles Anderson was indicted on several charges of misconduct in office and violation of the Harford County Charter. Anderson was never changed with any wrongdoing and eventually sued the county for reimbursement for the cost of defending himself. Anderson now works with the Maryland Aviation Administration.
