Chandausi is a city and a municipal board in Sambhal district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The original name of the city was "Chaand Si", meaning "moon-like" (in Indian poetry the moon is considered to be beautiful). It has an average elevation of 284 metres (603 feet). It is 187.5 km from New Delhi.

For more than five years, the city has also grown up in the field of Education and Technology.

City has a Major Degree College, many more Technical Colleges which educates to thousands of students every year.

As per provisional data of 2011 census, Chandausi had a population of 1,14,254 out of which males were 60,238 and females were 54,016. The literacy rate was 72.63 percent.

The climate of the area is similar to that of the Indo-Gangatic plain, with hot dry summers and cold winters and an average of 35 inches of rainfall.

Bade Hanuman ji mandir is one of the oldest temples of the city. It is situated at Hanumanghari near Sita Ashram playground. It is the temple of Hanuman ji and is 400 years old. A huge crowd worships in this temple every Tuesday and Saturday as these days are the days of Lord Hanuman. The temple has idols of Shri Ram parivar, Shri krishna Parivar, Shiv Parivar, Goddess Durga, Lord Bhero ji, Lord Sai Baba etc. It is situated on a small hill (Teela) and has a cave under the Hanuman ji statue. This cave runs through a large area of the city.
