Center Township is one of twenty-one townships in LaPorte County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 25,075 and it contained 10,994 housing units.
Center Township (also spelled historically Centre) was established in 1833. It was named from its position near the geographical center of LaPorte County.
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 32.96 square miles (85.4 km2), of which 30.98 square miles (80.2 km2) (or 93.99%) is land and 1.98 square miles (5.1 km2) (or 6.01%) is water.
