Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) is a school district headquartered in the city of Round Rock, Texas, United States. As of Fall 2016, the school district served 48,131 students, prekindergarten through grade 12.

District boundaries are approximately 110 square miles and include 54 schools that serve students in southern Williamson County, northwest Travis County, the City of Round Rock and portions of the City of Austin and City of Cedar Park.

Student enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year is 48,199. Round Rock ISD employs more than 6,100 educators, administrators, support and professional staff.

The District's mission is to prepare students to contribute to society, continue to learn and confidently embrace the challenges of a competitive and ever changing world. Round Rock ISD has said they believe that access to quality education is the foundation for us to reach our full potential as a society.

Round Rock ISD administrators have developed education offerings that support students as individual learners providing students a variety of teaching and learning techniques that develop a student's unique capabilities. Instructional methods and approaches include; providing students access to public schools of choice, arts integration academies, Project Lead the Way, an STEAM-based curriculum, Early College High School, International Baccalaureate (IB) or Advanced Placement (AP) courses, career focused theme-based high school academies, dual language and a variety of school day and after school enrichment programs.

The District actively engages the community at large to promote partnerships between local businesses, students, and schools.

Round Rock’s surround area continues to grow its residential and commercial population. This growth has led the District to a projected student enrollment of 49,687 for the 2021 - 2022 school year.

Round Rock ISD public schools of choice provides students access to innovative programming that engages and taps into their specific interests, aspirations and preferred learning styles.

Round Rock ISD has developed the Aligned Round Rock Curriculum (ARRC) with the assistance of teachers, instructional coaches, and curriculum specialists. The ARRC is aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and state assessments. The ARRC documents outline the learning goals and objectives RRISD students are expected to achieve and provides resources for instruction. The ARRC provides teachers with planning documents that:

The Round Rock Independent School District is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees that is responsible for adopting policy, employing and evaluating the superintendent, approving the budget and capital improvement plans, and setting the tax rate. As the district’s elected leaders, Trustees are charged with making decisions they believe to be in the best interests of all RRISD children.
