The second season of The X Factor aired on Fox, starting on September 12, 2012 and ending December 20, 2012. The live shows began on October 31, 2012, as 16 acts made it into the live shows, with one wildcard act returning after the first elimination round.Tate Stevens was crowned the winner of the season on the second half of the finale, with Carly Rose Sonenclar becoming the runner-up and Fifth Harmony finished in third place. They are all signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music.

The "Teens" category was mentored by Britney Spears. The six candidates were Diamond White, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Arin Ray, James Tanner, Reed Deming and Beatrice Miller. Spears chose the following:

Beatrice Annika Miller (born February 7, 1999) is an American teen actress from Maplewood, New Jersey. She auditioned on Providence, Rhode Island with the song "Cowboy Take Me Away." Prior to her audition, Miller has made several cinematic appearances in movies such as Toy Story 3 as Molly Davis. She resides in Maplewood, with her two moms and twin sisters, Georgia and Esther, who were adopted from Vietnam. Miller was paired with Carly Rose Sonenclar during bootcamp, where they sang Foster the People's song "Pumped Up Kicks". Both girls made it to the next round. Miller sang "Titanium" by David Guetta featuring Sia for her mentor Spears and guest judge will.i.am. Although Britney expressed doubt that Beatrice could handle the pressure, she still chose her as one of her four contestants. Miller performed "I Won't Give Up" during the first live show on October 31, 2012. During the first live results show on November 1, Spears put Miller into the Top 12.In week 2 Beatrice performance Iris by Goo Goo dolls in which she got 10th place on the vote rankings out of 12. In week 3, Spears chose for Beatrice Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time". The result show the following night saw Miller placed 8th out of 10 in the leader board. In week 4, Beatrice performed Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol on Thanksgiving Day for her sisters. On the November 22 results show, Miller was placed in the bottom 2 along with CeCe Frey by the public vote and sang a shaky rendition of "White Flag" (due to a ruptured vocal cord) by Dido as her survival song. Beatrice was eliminated by the judges 3-1 and finished in ninth place overall in the competition. The judges all agreed that the pressure was too much, especially since she had been crying when she was singing her song. She was signed to Syco Music and Hollywood Records in April 2013, and has an album to be released early 2014. She now goes by the stage name Bea Miller. Beatrice is currently working in the studio and has confirmed to work with tweeted Autumn Rowe with pictures. She has finished her debut album which will be a pop rock album. Her album is set to release this spring with the lead single releasing between March and May. She has been having photo shoots for the album artwork as well, showing one of her outfits on Instagram. She uploaded her debut single, "Rich Kids" online on YouTube. Her single has received lots of positive reception garnering over 370,000 views in one day. Be a released her debut EP on April 22, 2014. It reached number 2 on the iTunes Pop charts. She is releasing a full-length album later this year. Miller also joined fellow X Factor USA alumni Fifth Harmony as an opening act for their Summer Reflection Tour from July 15, 2015 to September 16, 2015.
