Carrizal virus (CARV) is a single-stranded, enveloped, negative-sense RNA hantavirus species of the Bunyaviridae family. It was first isolated in Guerrero, Mexico.
Carrizal virus is phylogenetically related to Montano virus and Huitzilac virus.
Carrizal virus is carried primarily by Sumichrast's harvest mouse (R. sumichrasti).
