Burt is a city in Kossuth County, Iowa, United States. The population was 533 at the 2010 census.
Burt was platted in 1881 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was named for Horace G. Burt, a railroad official.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.44 square miles (1.14 km2), all land.
As of the census of 2010, there were 533 people, 206 households, and 130 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,211.4 inhabitants per square mile (467.7/km2). There were 232 housing units at an average density of 527.3 per square mile (203.6/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.9% White, 0.2% African American, 0.4% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.3% of the population.
There were 206 households of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.6% were married couples living together, 11.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.9% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.9% were non-families. 32.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 17.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.40 and the average family size was 3.05.
