Bukit Tambun is a town, a suburb of of Simpang Ampat in Penang, Malaysia.
It is located near Simpang Ampat and also has exit for North-South Expressway (PLUS). Nowadays, Bukit Tambun is launching a programme called 『Beautiful Bukit Tambun, and now this little town have murals and also colorful shophouses.
The most early history about Bukit Tambun is on 1841 to 1860 based on a Batu Nisan.Bukit Tambun get its name from its topography as Tambun means flat in Malay Languages. As of 1860, this town started to become immigrant place from Batu Kawan as many Chinese and Indians come to here to work.Now, Bukit Tambun is a strategic place because it situated between PLUS highway and the newly build Penang Second Bridge.
Bukit Tambun has North-South Expressway (PLUS) exits. It also can be accessed by Sultan Abdul Halim Bridge.
